Eugene – After losing our home and having to file for bankruptcy, we weren’t sure how we were going to get ourselves back on track. Lauren Hatmaker helped.
Because of Jason’s service with the U.S. Army, we were able to purchase our new home with a VA loan and the expert guidance of our loan officer, Lauren.
We were very nervous about the home mortgage process. Given what we’d already been through, we were hesitant about having to divulge all our financial information. But when we talked with Lauren, she was very understanding. She assured us that we were not the first people to find themselves in a financially challenging situation. But she also told us that we’d done everything right since our struggles to straighten out our financial situation.
Lauren was so patient throughout the entire process, and that meant a lot to us. We were constantly apologizing for all our questions and she would say, “Don’t worry about it. That’s what I’m here for.”
She was very thorough and knowledgeable. And if she didn’t have the answer, she found it. She stayed on top of things and did a great job keeping us informed and letting us know what was going to happen next.
Now, every night, we look out the window at the great view from our new home and we feel so blessed. Lauren Hatmaker helped make our beautiful home possible

Eugene – Buying our first home was a big deal, and we did a lot of planning to make sure we did it right. After our finances were in order, we set out to find the right person to help us start the process. We found Lauren Hatmaker and our loan officer, Lauren, through a friend at CrossFit.
We had a lot of questions, and she answered all of them. We both work crazy schedules, so most of our conversations had to happen on the weekends. But Lauren was always available to speak with us. She explained the process and broke it down clearly, so we could understand everything, including all the options available.
We expected to spend several months looking for a home, but we found our house right away. Because we’d gone to Lauren Hatmaker first, we knew what we could afford, and we knew what kind of loans were available to us. We’re still amazed by how fast and smooth the process was. We found our home in October and closed on it in November.
Lauren was always available, from the beginning to when we signed the papers at the end. She even checked in with us afterward. We love our new home, and we would go back to Lauren Hatmaker in a heartbeat.

Philomath – Cara Bottineau helped us refinance our home when no bank would. Because of that, we are now debt-free and back on a solid financial path.
We found ourselves in a tough situation when poor financial choices finally caught up with us. We were in a pattern of thinking our tax refunds would help sustain our lifestyle, and we just got in way over our heads. Then we found ourselves 30 days late on a mortgage payment. I first met Cara when I went to speak with the bank. She wasn’t able to help us based on the bank’s rules and regulations. But a year later, after Cara joined Lauren Hatmaker, she contacted me and said we’d have more options with a mortgage broker, and she offered her help.
Cara Bottineau helped us take control of our situation, and was amazing. She invested time, she worked with us, and she helped us succeed.
If you need someone who knows what they’re doing and can see the big picture when others can’t, the people at Eugene Mortgage Brokers can help.
It was a great experience, from the day we were quoted a rate to the day we closed. The process was efficient, simple, and, best of all, exactly what we expected. No surprises, no hidden fees, just a great company to work with.
